Glitter Ornaments

I took the plunge and tried yet another "Pinterest" inspired project.

Floor Wax Glitter Ornaments. A quick and easy project, I give it 5 out of 5 stars, and you can find directions anywhere on the net almost every blog out there has at least tried this project once :) so feel free and browse the net to see everyone elses take on this project and below are my directions.

Here are the directions:

I'd recommend wearing gloves for safety when handling the glass ornaments.

Step 1:Carefully remove the top of the ornament (the metal part), just be careful to not break the ornament the glass is very fragile.

Step 2:
Pour floor wax into the ball ornament-enough to have to spread around. Move the ornament around so the wax spreads in the inside, and all spots are covered. Pour out extra wax back into container.

Step 3:
Using a funnel (I made mine out of paper) pour glitter inside the ball ornament. Cover the opening of the ball ornament and shake it up. Pour the left over glitter, from the inside, into a container to reuse it.

Step4:
Let it dry and after couple hours put back the metal parts

The photos don't do them justice,  depending on what type of  glitter you use, you'll have different effects. I used glitter discs it was silver and iridescent mixed and they give the ornaments a vintage look :)

and what they didn't tell you about this project...keep a wet rag or towel nearby, the wax gets messy, make sure you wipe it off the outside of the ornaments, so it doesnt dry and make them sticky.

I just did the simple project I may play around with it and see what I can do to them to jazz them up on the outside by personalizing them with names or decorations etc. Anywho, have fun and feel free to link here to show your take on this project :)
